Sunday Stills: Up #Close and Personal to #Green

This week’s Sunday Stills Photo challenge has you getting THISCLOSE to something green!

I always think of March being a “green” month what with St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th and all. We can expect spring to show its glory with colorful florals and wondrous greens!

“If the subject you are photographing is small and you want to make it look big, you end up with a “macro” view of a “micro” subject.
Close-up photography is the act of photographing objects such as flowers or insects in close range so the subject you are photographing fills the frame.”

I am sharing four images today from my front yard that were taken with my Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ mobile phone. Images were post-edited in PicMonkey.

The featured image of the clover leaves with raindrops, to me, symbolizes the month of March.

The second image is of the same clover cluster with an unopened flower adorned by a raindrop. You can see the clover leaves magnified in the droplet. Amazing!!

I really had to get “up-close and personal” by unceremoniously squatting down in the rain-dampened yard to get the shot! Do you think it looks like a dragon?

The third image was posted on Instagram last week. Our fruitless mulberry trees were just showing new buds. Within a few days, these buds are now covered in yellow pollen, which is one of the few things to which I am allergic.

On that same tree lurks a forest filled with strange and wondrous plant life. We call it moss!

  23. Love the pics. I don’t see a dragon in the dragon flower, but I do agree that the reflection of the clover is awesome. Interestingly, I can kind of see a dragon in the mulberry bud. The face isn’t there, but the downswept leaves suggest dragon wings to me. Terrific stuff! Sharing…

  26. It’s amazing a mobile phone can take such pictures. With or without PicMonkey’s help. I’m thinking of upgrading my phone mostly because it’s become my camera. You are pushing me even more that direction.

  29. Fantastic imagery, Terri. Those droplets on the clover look so refreshing. Good to hear you’ve had some rain. Because of the amount of rain we’ve had in the UK this winter, everything is looking green.

    I had a look through my photos, and this is the only one I could find that fits your theme.

    The photo was taken in a vineyard here in Wales. We have a few (because of climate change) although I think we’ve some way to go in catching up with the wine being good. What I’ve tasted is OK, but nowhere near as nice as some of the wines imported from countries such as France, Italy, Australia, South Africa and the USA.

  41. Sweet friend, I am late to the party. Have been out of town and forgot to check this month’s prompts until just now. Of course, I started with GREEN because it is the best color in the world.

    Your photos cause me to pause and look. And look again. Thank you for that. Seeing the clover leaves reflected in that tiny drop of dew or rain is just magnificent. Like the best kind of secret captured in a photo. Love the details your camera and your eye pick up. Always beautiful.
