The Flower Hour #18: Celebrating Lunar New Year

For the Flower Hour, share your images of flowers, gardens, fields of flowers, seasonal leaves and plants, fungus, algae, cacti, blossoms, berries, and wildflowers. Bouquets and silk/faux flowers are welcome.

In 2026, the Lunar New Year begins on February 17th and ends on March 3rd with the Lantern Festival.

According to the Chinese Zodiac Calendar, 2026 is the Year of the Horse. I couldn’t resist adding an A-I-generated horse smelling the flowers 😉

    The cherry blossoms are beautiful Terri. Another few months for us to see these delicate blooms. Very clever with the horse stopping to smell the flowers. I will have some blossoms with my last bee in my bee series for tomorrow’s Wordless Wednesday to contribute here. My first in-flight bee. It was a gorgeous planter in the City square so a sidewalk background in part.

        You’re welcome Terri. When I was preparing my tribute post I thought it would be nice to use WP’s AI to generate a vintage pic of a stork carrying a pink bundle in its bill. I was going to use a sepia tone to match my featured image. I got some really odd-looking birds. I was aiming for an image that looked like the stork on the Vlasic pickle bottle from years ago. 🙂

      Thank you Anne! I looked for horses in my files but nothing. AI comes in handy as a tool from time to time. And I always make sure to mark the image as such. The cherry plum blossoms are real and were taken in Sacramento years ago!
