For the Flower Hour, share your images of flowers, gardens, fields of flowers, seasonal leaves, blossoms, berries, and wildflowers. Even bouquets and silk/faux flowers are welcome.

As we continue through the holiday season, feel free to share close-ups of pine boughs from the Christmas tree, wreaths, holly berries, etc.

I forgot to add this faux poinsettia decoration to my last Sunday Stills post. Talk about last chances!

This is the last Flower Hour post of 2025. The feature returns on January 6th.

My stepson and my granddaughters are spending the Christmas holidays with us — we’re so excited!

  2. I like the contrast of the red berries and snow Terri. My holly doesn’t produce every year, but I used to make a couple of Christmas mugs every year, one for home and one for my desk. I put florist foam into a Christmas-themed mug, poked several small/short holly branches into the foam, then went to the local florist and got two red mums and two white mums and some ferns. I had a few small jingle bells I could reuse every year and put them on pipe cleaners tucked into the foam and this arrangement lasted a good two weeks and looked festive. Enjoy your family get-together and I hope you get the snow you are wishing for!

      • I have pictures in the house somewhere of the Christmas decor, as I liked where we put everything, so I took pictures to replicate it every year. The mugs were fun and easy to make. Oh my – hopefully all the guests won’t arrive this weekend and everyone has to endure the cold by candlelight. Fingers crossed you stay casualty-free. Mother Nature is a tool from coast to coast lately.

      • I did the same thing and also too pics for reference! Hans had his surgery today, all is well. Why do i feel exhausted? 😳 The winds died down significantly and the sun was out! And no guests until late Christmas night! Yeah, Mother Nature is pissed!

      • Well, if we were/are going to do Christmas, we’re going to do it right and stick with the tried-and-true decor! I’ll have to wing it if I can’t find the photos. I hope Hans is feeling 100% today, especially with all your company coming … you were more worried than he was and it likely wore you out. We had a gorgeous day today – balmy and right now it is 49 but dropping 30+ degrees overnight with a flash freeze that will be treacherous. Yes, very true about Mother Nature this entire year!!

  3. This is such a warm, inviting post—it feels like a gentle pause in the rush of the season. The way you open the Flower Hour to everything from wild gardens to faux poinsettias beautifully reinforces that beauty and joy don’t have to be perfect or “natural” to be meaningful. I especially love the inclusion of the Neil Gaiman quote—it adds a playful, thoughtful touch that fits the holiday spirit perfectly.
