Red roses and green leaf bouquet

The Flower Hour #9: Birthday Bouquet

For the Flower Hour, share your images of flowers, gardens, fields of flowers, seasonal leaves, blossoms, berries, and wildflowers.

Even bouquets and silk/faux flowers are welcome. Love mushrooms (aka fungus)? They are OK too as long as they’re not already in the frying pan! Thank you, Miriam, for that idea!

There are no specific themes for the Flower Hour; just use your own photography.

Let’s celebrate December birthdays!

Now that the holidays are here, feel free to share close-ups of Christmas tree pine boughs, wreaths, holly berries, etc.

Also sharing for Cathy’s A Week of Flowers, Day 2.

New to The Flower Hour photo challenge? Please check out my page for more information! I encourage “double-dipping” with other blog challenges if you do not want to create a separate post.

    • Hi Cath! Im so glad you’re back to blogging! I started the Flower Hour several months after Cee Neuner passed away last March. She always hosted flower of the day. When her blog domain parked, I decided to start a weekly flower challenge since so many folks love to photograph flowers! Your pingback worked great. Off to read your post!

      • That is amazing. My birthday is in April and I have only known one person who shares my birthday. Years ago I used pictures from the Pixabay photo site for holiday posts. I liked photographer Jill Wellington’s photos. One day I looked at her bio and learned she lived here in Michigan, not near me though. I wrote her a message and started following her on FB. We learned we shared the same birthday so she says we are “birthday sisters” and we send greetings every year – she is one year younger than me. She was a street reporter at a Saginaw TV station, then retired and her husband bought her a DSLR camera for a retirement present. She has a second career now as a portrait photographer. She encouraged me to use my own photos on my blog because she did this with her early photos and started a blog to showcase them.

  1. Oh Terri, this one felt like opening a window and letting December breeze in.
Your Flower Hour always feels like a tiny festival on its own — everyone bringing their little piece of beauty to the table.

And that red rose with the green leaves?
    Classic.
    Simple.
But somehow December makes even the simplest blooms look a bit more magical, no?

I love how you keep the space open — real flowers, faux blooms, berries, even the shy little mushrooms (as long as they’re not halfway to dinner 😄). It makes everyone feel welcome to just… show up with whatever beauty they’ve caught.

Here’s to December birthdays, bright colors, and all the quiet joy they carry.
Can’t wait to see what everyone shares next. 🌹✨
