For Wordless Wednesday, let your images tell the story.

“Bees do have a smell, you know, and if they don’t they should, for their feet are dusted with spices from a million flowers.” – Ray Bradbury

“Advice from a sunflower. Be bright, sunny, and positive. Know your roots. Spread seeds of happiness. Rise, shine, and hold your head up high. Keep on growing. Even on the darkest days, stand tall and find the sunlight.” –Unknown

I hope you’re having a good week! Join me this Sunday as we celebrate the last summer holiday, Labor Day Weekend (in the US), with the theme “things under construction.”

We are fans of sunflowers as well, dear Terri. Unfortunately, we failed to grow them this year. Therefore, we can admire really big ones on the allotments across the lane.
Keep well

We’re lucky the birds seem to drop these seeds for us, KB. About a block away is a garden with huge sunflower. And I did plant a few this year. Enjoy your view! 🌻

I know you’re a fan of sunflowers, Terri. Great photos, and the quotes are a delight. I love Bradbury’s especially.

Thank you, Diana! I get a kick out of finding appropriate quotes for my posts. One would expect Bradbury’s to be more spacey, LOL!

I always notice your quotes. They’re a wonderful complement to your photos.

Beauty shots Terri!
You shot these in your daughters garden? Does she collect the seeds?
LikeLiked by 2 people
Thank you, Wayne! All are in my garden except the dark red one that’s in my daughter’s garden. I hope she collected some!

I just wondered if the seeds of the red one taste different then the normal ones?

Now that is a great question!

Beautiful flowers Terri! I just took some sunflower pictures today at Emily Frank Gardens for a Wordless Wednesday post for the yellow/burnt orange theme. They had some of these dark sunflowers too and lots of bees!

I do too Terri! I actually have my September 14th post already done, in shades of yellow, so this is a bonus yellow post. 🙂

Beautiful sunflowers, Terri. I love that velvet one, for a difference, but the classic are my favourites.

Thank you, gotta love the classics but even those have a huge variety! 🌻

Oh how I miss the sunflowers my neighbor (who, sadly, passed away) used to plant for me in his yard. I think next year I’ll plant my own. I love the Teddy Bear variety! Great pictures of beautiful flowers and happy bees!

Thank you, Janis! Do you still have some of the seeds from his flowers? A blogger in NorCal mailed me some of his years ago. They grew great. 🌻

Sadly, no. That would have been a great way to honor him. He loved his garden and was such a nice man.

Thank you, Robbie! Isn’t that crazy? I grew some red sunflowers years ago when we lived in Northern California. My daughter planted the red one in her garden in San Diego.

Yes, I didn’t know red sunflowers existed. We have fields of yellow ones here.

Fields of yellow sunflowers are one of the most beautiful summer scenes to me. But I love seeing the oddly colored ones, too.

I bet your bees are having a field day on the sunflowers. That Velvet Queen is gorgeous.

Indeed, Graham! I just stood there with my camera on zoom aimed at the sunflower and clicked away. I hoped I would get a brown/red sunflower for my garden–it was my daughter’s. I guess my Amazon sunflower seeds were duds 😦
