I like the birds here in this post Terri and the last image made me smile. Very clever! You could have had a category of “long” – the Stilt: a long-legged and long-beaked bird (do they name it Stilt for the long legs?) Also, Egret: a long-necked bird.

Thank you, Linda! I was so happy to get these nice close ups of birds I hadn’t seen or been close enough to photograph before. I just went with the long-legged theme Denzil offered.

This may be one of my first visits to a nature preserve, Frank. Thank you, we have a couple in Spokane I plan to visit soon. Still waiting for warmer temps!

What asunny day in the first photo. We had heavy hail today. I try not to think of the sunshine state and be patient here. Those birds are telling good stories.

That was in Gilbert AZ, Miriam. I wore shorts and a tank top that day. In 3 weeks I needed more winter clothes to visit 6 states. 🤣

We are home, a week now. 3 weeks is long enough on the road and away from home. Spokane can get some heat in July!

That’s good that you’re home, Terri. As I said, I love traveling, but I miss my routine and my bed. I know Portland was very hot in the last two summers. I went ahead to start planting flowers.

Thank you, Diana! It was a warm 82 degrees, and I was prepared with shorts and tank top–the only time I needed these for the entire trip 🙂

Thank you, Willow! The tree is a mesquite which starts with bright yellow leaves that turn green. It made for the amazing backdrop 😁
