Ouch. I’m glad that photo is 5 years old, Terri. Nothing holds you down though – then or now.

It feel like yesterday, still, Diana! If I have another surgery, someone will have to carry me around this time 🙂

Lol. Well, let’s just home you’re done with surgeries.

The Plumeria is vibrant and beautiful, Terri! The scooter is a great idea for getting around and much better than crutches. I can’t handle the heat either and would rather pile on layers of clothes to stay warm.

Thanks, Eugi! I bought a set of 4 plumeria from Hawaii in 2019. Only two bloomed. The pink was a very healthy plant. The yellow one didn’t bloom until I rehomed both to San Diego. I was lucky to enjoy them while I had them. And, yes, easier to bundle up to keep warm. I don’t like heat. Isnt where you live humid, too? Ugh.

I’m glad I got the surgery over with. Hard to believe it was 5 years ago, Nancy. I enjoyed that scooter and could walk my dogs with it too! 😀

Sympathies about your surgery back then, Terri x

Thank you, Toni. I’m glad I had the surgery. I have a bunion on my right foot but it doesn’t hurt like the other one did. I’m in no hurry 😏

Wow, was that 5 years ago? Time flies doesn’t it?

Yes, Indeed. Glad the foot was done!

The Plumeria is pretty. I had to Google it to read about it as I’ve not seen it here – too cold unless you overwintered it in a warm place. We went to Florida years ago and were visiting friends who had Oleanders and my father bought one to bring home. Our friends said “they won’t last – they’re too tropical” and sure enough they were right. I can’t think of anything I was doing five years ago. I’m sure you are glad to put the foot surgery and knee scooter behind you Terri.

Plumeria shouldn’t grow in Sacramento but it’s warm enough there for 9 months. They did well in pots that I brought in in the winter. Once we decided to move to Washington, I rehomed them to my daughter in San Diego. Plumeria thrive there.

Your daughter lucked out then – they were beautiful Terri. Speaking of Washington, I hope you were unscathed by the earthquake about an hour ago. I guess it hit parts of Washington and Vancouver Island – hope it was not close to Wayne either.

It’s closer to Wayne than to me. Spokane area is on the eastern border of the state next to Idaho. Our temps are super hot, cooler than yesterday at predicted 97.

OK, I should have realized that Terri, but glad you were not affected. I did think Wayne might be affected since Vancouver Island was affected. This hot weather – wow. We had torrential rain all day yesterday. I had three inches of rain, no flooding, but I figured every park would be soggy or water on the asphalt walking paths. A waste of a sunny day, though it is 80 and 98% humidity – ugh. Luckily Council Point Park’s Creek is far below the walking path.

I’ve never thought a knee scooter was very practical, but you’re right, carrying coffee with crutches would be impossible.

I had to be completely non-weight bearing on the foot and crutches were horrible.

That scooter looks handy… but I bet you were happy to walk again unassisted. Stay cool, my friend. 104 sounds brutal.

I’m glad I had it. Other family members have borrowed it since then 🙂 I was happy to get that cast off! We are definitely staying in today!

Hi, Terri – Im not sure what I was doing 5 years ago today. But, 10 years ago today I was on a Home Exchange in Vancouver, 13 years ago I met up with some Australian friends in Las Vegas and 14 years ago today Richard and I were on our first Camino from Tui, Portugual to Santiago de Compostela.
I’m glad that you have recovered so well. Stay cool!

Wow, its fun to look back at our lives and see what we did, Donna! I love how much you travel!

Trust it all healed up well. We take walking for granted don’t we?

Oh yeah, the surgery to correct the bunion was great, but it took a good year to heal completely.

I miss those plumeria, Willow. I rehomed two pots to my daughter in San Diego–they grow very well there. The scooter was OK, added the pad and sheepskin cover. I had to use it for two months! Hard to bring a cup of coffee from the kitchen using crutches 🙂

beautiful pulmeria ..
as to carrying a cuppa on crutches I can sympathise having had to learn to walk again twice 💜💜

I’m trying to decide if I’m better in extreme cold or heat. 105–yikes! But I hate extreme cold, too!

I get sick in the heat. Like a mild heat exhaustion. Two years ago we were in Scottsdale with 115f temps. My dogs got sick too. Cold I can handle. Easier to warm up.

Haha, that was 5 years ago. Our temps will hit 105 here today. That may do it for me 😳
