Just what you’ve been waiting for; the Sunday Stills Monthly Photo color challenge! This month we explore shades of the color “apricot,” a light yellowish-orangish color that is similar to the color of apricots. The color range is shown here.

  2. Apricot and honey – wonderful together as a taste and as we near toward my favorite season! I’ve been reading a lot and watching videos about the Queen since her passing. I assume the funeral will be none other. I watched Princess Diana’s funeral which was sad. I wish we could all come together like what happened after 9/11 – I hope we never have a tragedy of that magnitude ever again.

      1. Terri, I am amazed at how long people have been queuing up in line and a woman from Connecticut flew to London to file past the coffin. She was so tearful in the interview, it was difficult to understand what she was saying. I am sure it will be difficult to adjust.

After I wrote mine (2 hours before your link is available for my time zone), I ended up coming down with a bug that my husband shared with me. We haven’t had that kind of cold bug fun since our kids were still in school and living at home. 🤣😅😆 Nice choices for the photos you shared of apricot colors.   16. Apricots are the secret fruit because hardly anyone I know seems to eat them, Terri. The only time many people eat apricots seems to be when it is used as jam to stick marzipan to a Christmas fruit cake. As you rightly pointed out, the health benefits of eating this lovely fruit are incredible. No wonder I can see in the dark.

    1. The only stone fruits I really like are apricots, and peaches are OK if not too ripe, Hugh, I was happy to read that they are good for our eyes and I see well in the dark too! Lovely image of that sunset…the apricot sky’s contrast to the silver and gray is stunning!

  24. I actually didn’t;t know that apricot had so many health benefits.

    The colour apricot was one of my mom’s favourites.

    I’ll try to find something apricot to share during the week. Yesterday the sky had an apricot hue in the morning, but I could not find a great place to take a photo, without disturbing noise. Have a wonderful week!

    I have an affinity for apricots. When Helen and I were dating, her mother always prepared an apricot salad for me when I visited for dinner. I think of her every time I have one on my plate, which isn’t often enough because I do like them. Here’s my contribution for the week–Artist Paint Pot, Yellowstone NP.   36. These are some of my favorite colors. You found some wonderful examples I love your palm tree creation and your apricot tee-shirt on your avatar person. Your information about the queen singing our national anthem is something I didn’t remember, but how touching. She was an amazing human being. Thanks for linking to WQW. This is a healthy post. I didn’t realize apricots were so good for your eyes. They have other benefits if you suffer from the problems they cure. I don’t. I used to eat dried apricots by the bag full. (almost.) They didn’t stick around long enough to make me fat. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Marsha! I’m glad you liked how the post turned out. So much for a simple color challenge. I was happy to have snapped the apricots at the farmers market a few weeks ago, so the timing was great for adding the healthy food element to WQW! Hans loves all those fruits–peaches, plums, apricots…I’m not a huge fan but I do like peaches and apricots when they are still slightly under ripe. I need to find some food that’s good for my hearing 😉

      1. LOL, if you do, I need to know about it ASAP! Vince can hardly hear me when I talk loudly directly into his ear. When he wears his hearing aids in public, there is always someone who is so loud that he about dies. I’ll be sorting for apricot things I can post on WQW this week.

Loved your nod to 9/11 and Her Majesty the Queen. Saw the anthem singing on this morning’s news altho I didn’t see it at the time.   52. Today it is election day in Sweden and the whole family has been down to vote for governmental, regional and local councils. My youngest one voted for the first time and has prepared herself by reading about the different parties and what the stand for. It is not an easy choice to make. The voting will go on till 8 tonight and then the counting will start – so still a long time to wait for the results.
