The theme of the weekly photo challenge is Friend.

He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader.
He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.

Not only are dogs our friends, but they are friends with each other…canine companions.

Aero started with his brother Gideon (the blonde) as inseparable friends. They are actually brothers, one litter removed. Gideon moved away with his mom (my daughter) last year. This photo was included in the weekly photo challenge Partners.

Aero seemed content to just hang out with us, but we thought he needed something more.

We brought baby Brodie home so Aero could teach him a thing or two.

Now they are content to lay in the sun and just play!

Fast friends, Boykin Spaniels

In case you are wondering…Brodie is a purebred Boykin Spaniel, while Aero is a Boykin-poodle mix. Read more about Aero’s journey.

Note: 6 month old Brodie is already 36 pounds, while 6-year old Aero is a whopping 13 pounds (more obvious in the featured image). Aero knows how to take Brodie down when he gets too friendly…

  1. Lovely photos and a lovely read, Terri. Those two are as cute as buttons and I bet they get lots of attention when you’re out walking with them. Although we’ve only had Toby for six years, I can’t imagine a home without a dog.

    • Thanks so much, Hugh! We are in San Diego for a few days and there are dogs everywhere here! These guys are such a rare breed for California, I do get stopped a LOT on the street asking what kind of breed they are. I don’t want to think about a home without dogs…ever. Cheers to you and Toby 🙂

      • Even with Toby being a Cardigan Welsh Corgi, and us living in Wales, we still get stopped lots of times by people asking what breed he is, Terri. He loves the attention, especially if treats are involved.
