The Flower Hour #36: Photo Composition in Bloom

For the Flower Hour, share your images of flowers, gardens, fields of flowers, seasonal leaves and plants, fungus, algae, cacti, tree blossoms, berries, and wildflowers. Bouquets and silk/faux flowers are welcome. Let’s add trees to the mix!

There are no specific themes for the Flower Hour; please use your own photography.

This week, I attempt to meet the Lens-Artists challenge using the composition tools of depth, perspective, and scale. I admit to my lack of training in formal photography. I “know” what looks good and naturally compose images with an artistic eye. But I enjoy learning more with these challenges, thanks, John!

    1. Thank you, Eugi, and for acknowledging they’re sunflowers. These are a member of the Asteraceae family, like traditional sunflowers. I shared this pic on Facebook last year and someone argue they weren’t sunflowers.

  16. Terri, I like how you added this photo composition part to the post … depth of field is something I remember when I took a 35mm photography class. I had books, the class and shot everything on automatic focus, never manual, just like I do now with the DSLR. I like the perspective of the tall Redwoods and also looking up at the tulips from the ground. Very nice! I will have something to contribute tomorrow for Flower Hour with my Wordless Wednesday post.
