Welcome to Flower Hour #5! I’m excited about November’s Flower Hour posts, as they will also feature shadows for Becky B’s November Shadows photo challenge.
This week, I’m sharing autumn leaves from our young Norway Maple tree, as well as Alpine Asters, wildflowers that are currently growing along the edges of our asphalt street.

Feel free to share ANY flower, no theme or requirements other than it’s your own. For those living in the Southern Hemisphere, thank you for sharing your gorgeous spring flowers!

Absolutely love the Norway maple leaves photo, Terri. Your shadows framing more shadows through the Norway Maple leaves is brilliant photography! And the asters, beautifully reflecting themselves in shadows, superb. Thanks for all the sunshine in your photos too.

Oh thank you, Suzette! The Norway maples were incredible this fall. Most leaves have fallen, but they lit up the gray days we recently had. We planted 3 maple trees. Turns out, the one in the front yard is Norway maple. Still immature but her leaves were spectacular this year.

The golden leaves are so vibrant and look at the Alpine Asters still looking so perky as the cold sets in. All this beauty so close to your home Terri – lucky you!

Thank you, Linda! Just today, even after rain and some wind, we still have a lot of yellow leaves on the trees. We were in town today and I saw the local larch tree in yellow glory.

I think golden leaves rival red leaves at the peak of Fall. My neighbor’s Red Maple was not vibrant this year as in years past which is too bad. We are getting about an inch of snow on Sunday, so leaf peeping becomes snow shoveling in the blink of an eye.

Wow, snow already? Our mountains have been getting snow but none yet. We’re at 2200 ft elevation. On this date in 2022, I took pics of the western larch trees in their yellow splendor. There was some snow onnthe ground. Soon, I’m sure.

Too soon but hopefully for both of us, it goes away quickly, until Christmas Eve. 🙂

I’d never seen them before we moved here. We’re surrounded by them in the neighborhood!

Turns out they can be considered an invasive species.

Of course! Why is it that many wild plants and flowers are invasive? Lots of room to invade here 😆

Lovely examples of the ephemeral nature of nature (see what I did there? LOL). We don’t get many autumn leaves here on Kiawah but the crispness in the air lets us know winter is not too far away. Thanks so much as always for joining us.
