Gosh, that’s early in the evening for northern lights, or at least it is here where I live. They are usually out around 10:30/11:30. All great photos.

I thought so too, Bernie. But they petered out about 8:45. Someone nearby said the aurora came back out about midnight. Thank you 😁

What a tremendous light display in your northern sky. Did you know the Northern Lights were going to be spectacular or just happen to go out and look up at the right time?
What fun to take pictures for a certain number…maybe that could be a Sunday Stills challenge. One month, the number 3. The next month, 7. Of course, 3 being the best number EVER.
Your captures, no matter what, elevate the everyday to the extraordinary. I don’t even like tomatoes but those are beautiful.

Thank you so much, dear Leslie! The seven challenge is a challenge hosted by another blogger. I think another bloggers hosts a numbers game challenge.
But to answer your question, yes, our local news mentioned the strong chance of seeing the aurora. I also follow a local Facebook page Aurora Chasers. And I have an app. It’s always a thrill to be able to see them from our backyard. Even if to see the colors manifest through the camera lens.

I love the Northern Lights, Terri. Great shot!

Thank you, Cathy. Can you ever see them where you live? Honestly we can only see their colors through the camera lens, but the gray streaks in the sky the other night were highly visible.

They can be seen, Terri but I haven’t been lucky so far.

Didn’t see the Northern lights again, Terri. I also missed the partial eclipse of the harvest full moon this week. I saw some great pics of the events, though.
I could only count six sailors, but the saw the one sneakerly behind one of the others.

You saw the 7th sneaky sailor, Hugh. It wasn’t even a test 😁 I follow a couple Facebook groups that share their photos. There were some good ones!

Beautiful, Terri. My first thought was that the windsurfers look like butterflies! And I’d love to see the Northern Lights. No such luck yet. I might need to make a trip to Norway! 🙂

Thank you, Diana! I’ve always thought the sails look like butterflies, too! I can’t believe I’ve seen 3 separate Aurora events this year. But a trip to Norway would work!

We’ve tried to catch them, but it seems we were just out of range (or cloudy).

Cool image of the Northern Lights. Wouldn’t mind getting a glimpse of them one day. I like the sevens too. Homegrown tomatoes there?

Thank you, Graham! Those are indeed home grown tomatoes. The reddish ones are chocolate cherries and the yellows are lemon boys. Both are so good!
We’ve been seeing a LOT of northern lights this year. Kind of incredible.

Seven must be a lucky number. 🙂 Love the Northern Lights pic, especially.

It seems to be, Debbie. The aurora lasted about 15 minutes but dimmed due to the bright moon. Some people got more photos around midnight when the lights flared again. Lucky indeed!
