Sunday Stills Monthly Color Challenge: Crushing on #Orange and #Peach

, ,

Welcome to September’s Monthly Color Challenge! This week, we’ll explore the various shades of peach and orange. You can share both or just one color.

Late summer brings with it a lot of peach and orange colors, whether found in a sunrise or sunset, a garden, or stunning views while on vacation.

Peach and Orange Blossom Special

This year’s garden shows off my peachy gladiolus…

…and bright orange dahlias.

Walking around my neighborhood on the 7th day of the week, I spied an orange sunflower.

This reminded me that I still have packets of seeds left from the various sunflower species I cultivated while living in Sacramento. Perhaps you remember these?

During our visit to the Woodburn Tulip Farm near Portland, Oregon, last April, these peachy tulips were terrific to discover.

Nature’s Breath-taking Oranges with Peaches & Cream

Over the years, we’ve had the pleasure to travel throughout the West and view jaw-dropping scenery like these depicted in these spectacular destination spots in Nevada, Arizona, and Utah.

And how can I not include another view of Antelope Canyon?

After spending many summers in the Sacramento Delta, I have never seen a sunset I didn’t like. This one, with seven wind turbines, was captured in 2017.

Closer to home, with help from my Painnt filter, even a mundane backyard looks pretty peachy.

  • Remember to title your blog post a little differently than mine.
  • Please create a new post for the theme or link a recent one.
  • Entries for this theme can be posted all week.
  • Tag your post “Sunday Stills.”
  • Don’t forget to create a pingback to this post so that other participants can read your post.
  • I also recommend adding your post’s URL to the comments.

As always, I encourage double-dipping into other challenges. Marrying the various prompts together in one post creates more of a challenge, at least for me. I also encourage reviving previous images that fit the theme.

I can’t wait to see how you interpret the various shades of orange and peach in this week’s theme! Creativity is encouraged, so please share your own photographs (old or new), poems, original short stories, and music inspired by the theme. Join me next week as we explore “Autumn or Spring?”

  5. Orange sunrises and sunsets will always get my attention and yours is quite lovely. I was attempting to add a link to one of my end of summer sunsets here but alas I don’t think the comment box block was not appreciating my efforts! Perhaps it’ll post even though I can’t see it drafted. I’ve been away from blogging for about a month but you’ll be seeing me jump back in this fall!

  13. Such happy, vibrant colours, Terri. And not an orange or peach in sight. Late summer/early Autumn at their best. Sadly, our sunflowers didn’t do as well this year, except for the Teddy Bear variety, which are just about coming to their best. At least the wildlife will have some seeds from them.

I love my sunrises, too, especially during the winter months. This one was taken in January this year.

I hope you’re having a great week, Terri. Enjoy the spectacular colours on offer.

    1. Thank you, Hugh! And what a lovely image you shared! Winter sunrises are the best! It’s a little dusty orange here yet, as we wait for more vibrant fall colors to show up. You reminded me that I still have Teddy bear sunflower seeds too cultivate this spring and plant.

Orange is big in East Tennessee because it is the color of University of Tennessee Athletics, and EVERYBODY wears orange this time of the year. I thought I would also include a photo of Lower Antelope Canyon that I took on our recent visit. That place is amazingly orange. Have a great week. Joe
