      1. I thought it looked like that Terri … I am sure I would have taken just as many images … always that extra one or two, just in case the previous ______ ones didn’t come out right. 🙂

  4. As I’ve said before, I love your photos of Antelope Canyon. I am so happy that that land is being well cared for and the crowds are managed. It’s too beautiful and unique to be left unattended.

    1. Thank you, Janis! Both canyons are operated on Navajo lands and they take good care of them.

  6. Seahorse? It looks like you’re standing in a kaleidoscope, Terri. What a wonderful experience standing in that canyon must have been. Looks like it a was a beautiful day by the colour of that sky, too.

    1. Well the Navajo guide showed me the seahorse, Hugh, my imagination doesn’t work as well😁 Many thanks! It was truly an unforgettable experience to walk through Antelope Canyon. It was a bright sunny day in Page, Arizona. Had I waited, it wouldn’t have been the same due to overcast conditions.

      1. Perfect timing, then, Terri. In the first picture, the textures of the walls make it look as if you’re on your way (or back) to/from the Twilight Zone. I hope you had a great adventure.

  11. That area would certainly make you feel very insignificant. Amazing and looks similar to parts of Australia where the sea once was and has carved out areas of the land. We also have places in NZ down in the South Island, though not quite as dry and expansive.

    1. I would imagine the red rock areas of Australia are quite significant in scope, thanks!

    1. Thank you, Suzanne! I toured at about 10am. Phone camera (I have the Samsung s23 ultra). I have to figure out which ones I want to frame and make canvas prints out of them!

  18. These are sandstone formations that formed at the bottom of a inland sea. You are looking back in time with older layers being at the bottom and the youngest at the top.
Water has carved them as sandstone is a soft sedimentary deposit. Because of the thickness and the sediment being similar, that tells me the environment did not change over a long span of time.
If you were to inspect each grain of sand, you would find that each one is as unique as each snowflake.
Nature has eroded its self to reveal its inner beauty.
