#WordlessWednesday: What Color is Your Universe?

,

For Wordless Wednesday, let your images (and a couple of quotes) tell the story.

“Look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see, and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious.” | Stephen Hawking

    1. It was a happy face that greeted me when my walk was done, Marsha! Cold but sunny, could be worse. I hope all is going smoothly with your transition!

  3. Not only beautiful images, but fun images as well Terri. I agree with Mr. Hawking. We must never lose the sense of wonderment we had as children and we should always be curious. Interesting you use the quote that mentions the sighted being able to enjoy the colors. We should never take that gift for granted. At the present time I have three friends (two are bloggers) who are losing their eyesight. One loves nature photography and is 80 and she fills her blog with nature photos she takes while hiking or even standing in her backyard in rural Arkansas. She says she aims to see as much of nature as possible before she loses her sight. Another blogger, nearing 80, is losing her sight rapidly and also lost her husband this Summer. My third friend, my former handyman, is only 57 with sight only in one eye (and marginal at best). I thought of all of them when I took in all the beautiful leaves this Fall.

    1. Thanks, Linda. I’m sorry to hear about the folks losing their eyesight. I’m so visual, I don’t know what I’d do.

      1. Yes, I feel badly for them – and it’s all happened within a matter of six months that I know all these folks. I now try not to whine about how gray and gloomy it is knowing I see that – I think this would be one of the most difficult senses to lose. I follow a blogger in Wales who is almost blind and writes about her seeing eye dog. Zena began the blog when she first got Munch, a Labradoodle, who is not at all like your typical seeing eye dog. Together they have trials and tribulations; she’s written a book that’s on Amazon and went on a book tour, reads blogs with a special narrating device and she posts about once a month.

  12. Hi Terri, color me grey today. Tropical Storm, soon to be Hurricane Nicole should arrive around midnight and will probably make landfall at my favorite beach – sad face. The erosion from the past few days and a King tide has already taken its toll. Pretty to witness, but so damaging.

Love your moon shot and snow smiley. They made me smile on this gloomy day.

  15. Can’t believe you’re getting snow already. I love snow, and we don’t get it anymore. What’s the elevation there? Your moonshot is excellent. I also captured one with my Lumix and will post it later in the week. Helen woke me up in time to get the camera out. Have a great rest of the week. Joe

    1. This snow is staying for a while with that polar vortex hanging about, Joe. Thank you, the eclipse turned out great but it was cold! Our elevation is only 2100 feet but we’re only 2 hours from the Canadian border…high desert/alpine climate zone.

    1. I only got up because nature called and it wasn’t the eclipse, Wayne, LOL! Happy to share. Even my neighbor thinks these are tamaracks but tams are shorter (according to that article), and some of these I saw were well over 200 feet tall. Whatever their species, they are an amazing sight!
