The Flower Hour #54: Haunting Hues and Shadowy Blooms

For the Flower Hour, share your images of flowers, gardens, fields of flowers, seasonal leaves and plants, fungus, algae, cacti, trees and tree blossoms, berries, and wildflowers. Bouquets and silk/faux flowers are welcome.

As we enjoy Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere and Spring in the Southern, seasonal blooms and leaves on trees are welcomed and encouraged!

Feel free to share ANY flower, plant or tree, no theme or requirements other than it’s your own!

Your original images reimagined with AI tools in post-editing are also welcome. And you have all week to link to this post.

With Halloween approaching, I’m sharing some monochromes, our misty lake, and a shot of my home decor for the season.

Not all hauntings are frightening. Some arrive quietly in the morning mist…

Nature has a haunting beauty all its own, especially when we look beyond the obvious.

  4. Hi Terri, I’m joining you today with some photos of my beautiful roses in my springtime garden. Your images are lovely and show autumn and Halloween well! We don’t tend to do Halloween here that much but I like the way you’ve woven it in your post. Thanks for the challenge!

  8. Terri, your photos of the Autumn leaves are so gorgeous and the reflections on the water of those trees is just spectacular! The mist rising off the water, whether in color or black & white is eerily beautiful. Here is my Halloween stroll from Sunday … flowers interspersed with the spooky stuff.

Spooky vibes as we slide toward Halloween ….

      1. We are having a spectacular Autumn this year too Terri and it’s great to see all the colors like they’ve always been. It’s peak week for foliage here in SE Michigan and we’ve had very little wind, so I’ll be going out again tomorrow before the rain arrives Thursday to get more photos. You’re welcome!

Unfortunately the commerce part of Halloween, something that has no history in Australia, is getting traction. So much plastic crap that will end up in landfill.

    1. Thank you, Brian! Sad to know that the trappings of Halloween have invaded you area. Keep your status as the weird old bloke! Our neighbors to our north have a gawdy array of those blow up yard decor, like 20 of them! Last year they left them up until New Years. And they live on the corner so we all have to see them. Ugh.

  11. I have an excuse not to decorate for Halloween this year, Terri- I’m feeling rubbish. If I’m honest I don’t usually bother much- my daughter more than makes up for me, and is still ‘crafting’ this evening. We do have sweets that Mick can dish out to any callers though. I shall just take comfort in your warm glow of Autumn, and admire your wonderfully droopy sunflower. Happy Halloween! xx

  25. Hi, Terri! 🙋 The scenery looks very awesome; the river and the foliage are wonderful! The decoration for the Halloween looks great. Also, the flowers are very amazing!

In my country, we don’t celebrate Halloween, but we treat those days like normal days. However, we decorate places during the new year and Ramadan.

Hope you have an amazing rest of your week! ☺️
