As the US Independence Day looms closer on July 4th, I wanted to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the US with patriotic florals this week.

Composite flowers, like chrysanthemums and Echinacea, can often appear very much like fireworks exploding in the night sky. SOURCE

Our former Sacramento neighborhood boasted gorgeous Crape Myrtle shrubs. They bloomed in June and July, and their shape looked like fireworks. Sadly, I have very few pictures and most are of poor quality. Here is my re-imagined Crape Myrtle.
