That little girl riding her horse standing up is amazing! If I was her parent or grandparent, I think I would have to close my eyes until she was done. 🙂

She was really tiny, Janis! And she executed a couple tricks clinging to the side of her horse. Amazing!

Hats off to the riders that compete in this daring sport. I haven’t been to a rodeo in years and always enjoyed them.

Daring indeed! I see the men wear helmets for some of the bronc events especially the steer bronc event. One guy fell off a steer onto his head. He walked away, but yikes!!

Great fun Terri. I like rodeos. When my parents visited, many years ago, I took them to one in Chehalis. A good time was had by all!

We watch Heartland on Netflix. We really got into the equestrian spirit then saw the local small towns in Stevens County being announced. Lots of fun!

Love the second photo; white hat, long hair, born to ride.

Thank you, Rebecca. The rodeo queens were really decked out. Very cool experience!

I enjoyed these Rideo photos. It’s another world from the one I ride in!

I’ll bet! Thank you, Anne. The rodeo was a lot of fun to attend, and close to home!

That looks like a lot of skill to compete, so (cowboy) hat’s off to all these riders, but especially the PeeWee Rider who was pretty in pink. I like both your black-and-white image and the more colorful image Terri.

Thank you, Linda! I’m sure rodeos represent years of practice with so many events. It was a lot of fun to attend.

Yes and likely many a tumble to get where they are today.

Never been to a rodeo and only rode a horse once. It wasn’t a happy experience, as he wasn’t trained properly. 😱 Still, it would be interesting to attend a rodeo. Such skill! You’ve captured the action well, Terri. 🙂

Thank you, Debbie! Sorry to hear your horse experience wasn’t a good one. They are quite fun to watch, very lively and amazing to see the skill it takes to execute the events. It was little overcast then dusk, and my phone camera stopped taking sharp pics. we might go to one in another small town, maybe we’ll go during the day.

Just a bunch of cowboys/girls playing with horses, steer and cows. Tons of events like roping, bucking broncs, barrel racing, etc. Very American West!

it looks like great fun though Terri 😲💜💜

Terri, my dad used to barrel race. He tried to get us kids into it, but no takers. I did love riding our horse though. Boots and class and a little sass! Love the B/W’s

That’s awesome, Suzanne! Seems like they’ve limited barrel racing to the ladies these days. I rode my horse bareback when I was 9. I didn’t know how to put on a saddle.

What fun Terri! I like that junior rider. I can only imagine how good she’ll be when she gets older.

It really was, Anne. She showed some other tricks and some older girls did a few things that would curl your hair.

I don’t personally rodeo, but I’ve been to quite a few and always enjoy them.

That’s good enough, Janet! It had been quite a while since I had been to one. I used to ride as a kid and teen. This rodeo was close to us and very home-towney!

Thanks for including some black and white shots for Monochrome Madness, Terri 🙂 Just to clarify, the theme is simply People, not necessarily their backs!

I saw that, Sarah, but it worked since I didn’t have many pics of the rodeo. It was overcast and lighting was a bit low for decent pics.
