We have the Spring Beauties on the forest floor, but they are low and kind of nondescript, nothing like your flowers.

Yes, these are the wild arrowleaf sunflowers that bloom in April until the end of May. Then the domestic sunflowers start making an appearance. I can’t complain, Hugh. 🌻

When I first saw these in May 2020 while visiting our property, I was so thrilled that wild sunflowers grew here. Less work for me to plant my own, although I really enjoyed cultivating domestic sunflower seedlings.
