Something unique for Thursday Doors today! As I turn my attention to taking part in new and old photo challenges, I came across these photos of not one, but two cute girls, with doors as their backdrop for some fun!
In the featured image above, I saw this cutie riding a unicycle around the hotel we stayed in near Yosemite a couple of years ago. I asked her (and her mother) for permission to take her picture as she deftly rode around the hotel area on her unicycle.
In the photo below, while at San Diego’s Southern California Exposition (also known as the Del Mar Fair), one of the exhibits hosted an Alice in Wonderland theme complete with doors of varying shapes and sizes.
Those of you who posted for the weekly photo challenges, are you feeling a little lost? I joined hundreds of bloggers weekly for nearly four years posting for the WPC.
But there is hope for all of us. Our fellow bloggers are hosting other wonderful photography challenges. If you are looking for more challenges to show off your photography skills and inspire your writing, please join my weekly Sunday Stills Challenge and take a look at Cee Neuner’s website for an expanding list of photo challenges hosted by herself and others!
And please join Norm at Thursday Doors each week with your fabulous doors!

Love, love the picture of the multiple doors!

Maybe you saw this exhibit at the Del Mar Fair that year. I was very intentional about shooting doors that trip, plus I hadn’t been to that fair in over 20 years!

No, sadly we missed that one, as well as this year’s. I love the fair and look forward to going again when we can.

Both photos are wonderful. As for riding unicycle – can I do that sitting down?

Haha, I think you do sit down…I wouldn’t know either!

I’d need a lounge chair on top of that wheel – and another two or three wheels for balance. LOL

Hmmm, a recumbent unicyle with training wheels…I could try that, Shari!

No of course I can’t ride a unicycle. I can’t manage a bicycle. But those photos are great!

I can’t either (well, I assume so)…but she was certainly fun to photograph 🙂

This reminds me that I used to juggle when I was younger and I had a friend who rode a unicycle. So one day I got this idea that I’d combine the two…it didn’t end well 😀
Fun post Terri thanks for sharing these.

Oh, I can imagine that! I guess one has to be a professional clown to pull it off 🙂

And though I’m a clown…I’m just not very professional 😉

No, Terri, I can’t ride a bicycle let alone a unicycle! I do love your photos of the doors. I enjoy reading the posts in this weekly series. It is amazing how many beautiful doors there are in the world. Have a great weekend!

HI Sue, thanks! Hard to believe you can’t ride a bicycle! But I can’t run like you, either

Awesome photos, and great quotes. I totally agree — what has been caught on film IS captured forever… and helps preserve precious memories.

I’ve always wanted to ride a unicycle, but I have ridden a penny-farthing. It was a long time ago (amen) and glad to say I didn’t fall off from that great height. 😀
Great captures, Terri. The colours are amazing.

A penny-farthing? One of those tall bikes? How cool is that!

I never tried a unicycle, but this kiddo has mastered it.

Both of these photos seem very joyful to me! Two little girls, enjoying their experiences- what could be better than that?

Thanks, Michele, I couldn’t believe the luck in finding both of these for the T Doors challenge (I have a LOT of photos)!

I can ride a unicycle so long as it’s joined to another unicycle by a frame.

Fab photos, Terri. The clarity is awesome. “[Photography] remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.” So true! I look at photos from years back and marvel at (cry over!) all I’ve forgotten. I love your posts, girlfriend ❤️

Really unique picture of doors. And the unicycle–the young lady makes it look easy. We-all know it’s not!

I have never seen a real unicycle, Terri. I love these pictures and the idea of a one wheeled bike is interesting although I will leave it to the circus clowns to do the cycling on one.

I think unicycles have gone the way of pogo sticks and hens teeth, rare indeed!
