Welcome to Flower Hour #4! I really appreciate your comments and links! I’ve already met two new bloggers who also love flowers.
With Halloween approaching, I’m showcasing black-and-white sunflowers from my archives. Feel free to share ANY flower, no theme or requirements other than it’s your own!

These are lovely in b&w. I must see if any of my pictures translate well.

Thank you, Robbie. Yours don’t have to be b&w, that was my choice. It’s a fun challenge, though.

Black and white present light in a unique way. I enjoy the perspective it offers.

Amazing photos, Terri! I can sense the transformation of the sunflowers with your macros capturing the very fibers of the flower at this stage. Superb and inspiring photography..

Thank you so much, Suzette! Seems counterintuitive to change sunflowers to black and white.

Your sunflower pictures work very well in black and white. I especially like “faded to Black.”

Thank you, Janis! That one really lent itself to that title. It was a sad day when I cut down all my spent sunflowers last week. I saved most of the seeds.

I’m so glad these worked for B&W, Eugi, even though its a bit counterintuitive for sunflowers!

Interesting seeing flowers up close and in black & white. Good way to do this for Halloween! Here’s my entry:

Thank you, Barbara! I know it seems counterintuitive to show sunflowers in B&W, but yes, I was going for seasonal moody! I was quite pleased with the giant seedhead.

These have great details, and sunflowers work so well in B&W due to textures. Here is mine:

You can really see the shapes and textures this way, but I still prefer the yellow. 😁. Very seasonal, though.

Thank you, Maria! I managed to grow 4 giant sunflowers this year. In the last Pic the seed head is the size of a dinner plate! I’m glad it translated nicely into black and white!
