Mandatory Board Meeting

Board meeting

While vacationing in Baja Sur, Mexico, we visited Vela Windsports in Los Barrilles. On the beach was this configuration of surfboards.

Nothing says Harmony like a beach board meeting. I would volunteer to be the chairperson of this meeting.

Before I retired from the daily grind, it seemed there were endless meetings. My least favorites were having to present something at the City Council meetings that lasted well into the night.

Now my answer is this:

Sorry, couldn’t make it…had a mandatory board meeting.

Harmony at its finest!

Sorry, couldn’t make it…had a mandatory board meeting.

  1. Hi Terri,
Were you unhappy with the “endless meetings”? If yes, say “no”. Have a “no thank you” list. Great to see you here.

  8. For some reason, that photo also reminds me of Stonehenge, Terri.

    1. That’s what I thought, too when I spotted them on the beach; the Stonehenge of Surfboards.

  9. Great shot. The shadows to the right are menacing. Is the meeting about to be broken up?

  10. Ugh! Meetings… so many of them called for seemingly little reason. My mantra for meetings was: Be prompt, be quick, and be gone! Of course, I was never summoned for a meeting like the one in your photo!

  11. This is fabulous! Meetings have the ability to suck the life right out of you. It is one of the things I do NOT miss about working at the college full time. A couple of weeks ago I saw a bunch of ice boats lined up out on the lake. I should have taken a photo!
