Optimism of a Brand New Day

,

There was never a night or a problem that could defeat sunrise or hope. Bernard Williams

The Weekly Photo Challenge asks us to demonstrate what optimism looks like to us. I cannot think of anything more promising for good things to come than witnessing the sunrise of a new day.

A sunrise brings a new day and a renewed chance of happiness.

This photo was taken while I was in Mexico. As someone who lives on the West Coast, seeing the sunrise over the ocean is virtually impossible. We stayed on the Baja peninsula south of La Paz, where the sun rises over the Sea of Cortez.

The sunrise and the empty beach chair to me suggest optimism in the form of relaxation and leisure opportunities.

Optimistic

    1. Thanks, PJ. It would be a great prompt for a Flash Fiction story. You’ll have to get on that soon 😉

  6. Great shot! I loved seeing the sunset on the Pacific when I was in Costa Rica. I’m used to the sunrises on the Atlantic 🙂

  7. I loved this post. I remember the first time I saw the sun rise over the ocean (on a trip to Delaware), I just could not make it work in my body!! I grew up on the beach in San Diego.

And I love that you use the word perspective in your blog. Me too. I love that word!

  8. Fantastic capture, Terri! As someone who lives on the East Coast I was so excited when we went to Aruba and caught the sun setting over the ocean. Either way, coming or going, it’s blissful, isn’t it?

    1. I couldn’t believe the luck when I took the photo a few weeks ago. Someone had pushed the chair out there. When I first saw it there were people standing there in my shot…imagine! LOL!

      1. HaHA! How very rude of them! It is a wonderful piece of luck getting that pic for sure.
