Wordless Wednesday: “I’m a Photographer” Moment

I’ll just say this: I borrowed a digital camera from work and snapped this image in October 2010.

  1. Simply the beginning of a wonderful journey 🙂

  2. Interestingly, I needed to go to your site to see the pics since no pic appeared. This happened last night, so I waited until tonight and it is still the same. Plus the “like” button doesn’t work. No words.

    1. Uh oh, sounds like a problem, Linda. I used the featured image…

      1. I wouldn’t have known that except for going to your post … it didn’t make sense. Your post (viewed in Reader) was the only one with no picture, just a blank. But I couldn’t comment on anyone’s post, so I left a note on each post – this is the second day for that happening. I am using a Windows 11 laptop, so that isn’t the reason. Maybe I have to get a new browser. I am using Edge.

      2. Hmmm, I always use Chrome. I have windows 11 and it always wants me to use Edge. Give it a try.

      3. Okay, I will try that Terri. Thanks for the tip. I don’t like Edge at all. And I turned off the feed in Edge – it was overwhelming news stories, both newsworthy and fun stuff as well, but just too much. That was a great improvement. I was using Edge and Chrome on Windows 10. I don’t like Bing as a search engine – I have to scroll down to find what I really want.

      4. I just had a weird experience Terri. A fellow blogger wrote a post about using AI in today’s world and I was commenting on it when I hit a stray key – I have no clue what I hit, but all of a sudden JP’s blog post was being read aloud. It began with the title, even telling me how many words the post was.

I didn’t want to touch anything, so I just clicked off the volume on the computer. I finished my reply, pushed “send” (and of course I couldn’t “like” it), but then after I pushed “send” my cursor turned yellow and was moving along my comment and out loud it said “reply by Linda Schaub” and started reading my entire reply out loud. Wow – I don’t think it’s a WP thing but maybe a Windows 11 thing? I don’t recall if the microphone icon was turned on like it is for Duolingo. I had to share what happened.

A fellow blogger who is blind has a special reader on her phone to hear other’s blog posts and I suppose this is akin to what Zena has installed on her phone.

      5. There is a read aloud button for books, but wow, that’s crazy!

      6. I didn’t know that – I just found a tutorial on how to use it so I guess I have to explore it more. And yes, it was crazy!

  9. 2010! The quality of the photo shows its age, Terri. Nonetheless, it’s still a beautiful image. When I look at some of the pictures I took over 10 years ago, I can see the difference from today’s photos. Photography equipment has come a long way.

    1. Oldie but goodie, right, Hugh? Digital cameras have really come a long way. This was top of the line back then. Phone cameras have also improved.

  11. I have a framed shot that I took back in the mid-seventies and it’s the only shot I ever sold (or tried to sell.). Went to an attorney in Steamboat Springs. As a fairly recently out of college person, it really made me feel good.Yours is a beautiful shot. I can see why you love it.
