Great photos, Terri. The Valley of Fire outcropping looks like chocolate ice cream to me. Lol.

Color photos are beautiful but black and white photos seem so crisp.

To think a sunflower bud can be that stunning in black and white is amazing. Great contrasts, Terri. Enjoy your week too.

Thank you, Donna! A sunflower in b&w seems the opposite of our expectations.

It really delivers, too, Bernie! A few years ago, we got snowed out of Sedona during the winter and my plans for visiting Antelope Canyon fizzled due to weather. We left and ended up in Las Vegas for a week and there we discovered VOF. It even had a small slot canyon to enjoy among other amazing attractions. It’s a state park so only $10 American dollars to enter.

It seems like a cool place. I’m not sure when travel will take us south to the USA, but that whole area with all those interesting landforms will be on the list. We’ve only done Joshua Tree National Park.

Terri, my favorite here is the Teddybear Sunflower as it’s so vibrant and you see the textures of the petals up close.

Thank you, Linda! I grew that cutie from seeds. They weren’t very big but definitely lived up to their name.

Lovely images, Terri. My neighbor’s sunflowers are sadly coming to their end. Maybe next year I’ll suggest that he plant a few Teddybears.

Thank you, Janis! Yes the sunnies are drooping or have had their seeds completely eaten. Some are still blooming but by the end of September it can get cold at night, and that’s it. I was successful growing the teddies in Sacramento.

I love your Valley of Fire picture and your monochrome of the sunflower. Wow! You should see my beautiful sunflower now. It looks like someone beat it up! Thanks for linking.

Thank you, Marsha! Yeah, I have a lot of weepy, drooping sunflowers, but still quite a few growing. At least the birds are feeding off the seeds. The Valley of Fire is such an awesome area, I knew I had a color monochrome I could sneak in 👍

Lol, thank you, Anne! I really appreciated your description of monochrome using color. Another blogger told me it wasn’t true monochrome a while back. I think they make compelling images. Thanks for hosting!
