That sunflower looks like the leader of a group of sunflowers taking over the Earth, Terri. Beautiful, but my mind is running wild.
You can’t go wrong with yellow summer colours.

Heehee, thanks, Hugh! This was one of the big volunteers and it was swaying like mad in the wind yesterday afternoon as a thunderstorm threatened. I almost caught it with a bumble bee but the wind made the bee mad and he headed toward me so I ran. The sunny may be the leader indeed! 😎

Well now I’m doubly impressed. I have a beautifully painted mug (a French village scene) that the sellers told me NOT to get near the dishwasher. So I haven’t, in 15 years!. I think I need yours.

I agree Terri that yellow just shouts at you! I do remember reading a book about colours and the effect upon people. The author said that they found yellow to be detrimental to recovering patients in a Hospital setting and blue was more pleasing.
So yellow may not be for all purposes?

I think yellow revs us up, probably not good for keeping blood pressure down. Red is much worse. So mellow yellow must be a contradiction, Wayne! 😉

Sunflowers are always so bright and cheery. Planted a quite a few this year, but none survived. The squirrels and chipmunks got them all. Instead I’m enjoying wonderful posts such as this, Terri. 🌻 😀

Thank you so much, and that’s one way to enjoy sunflowers, Carl, sorry yours got eaten! Mine popped up out of nowhere, so anything was a gift this year. I still have seeds from my garden in Sacramento, and a few from last year’s volunteers just in case!

Thanks Terri. That’s amazing regarding all the volunteer growth you had. If the squirrels only knew in the fall there would be heaps of seeds to eat. Instead of rooting up the seeds I had planted. 😀
