Sunday Stills Monthly Color Challenge: #Teal or #Aqua, Rhymes with ??

Don’t worry about rhyming anything, but show us your teal and/or aqua-colored images this week for May’s monthly color challenge.

I can’t think of much that rhymes with aqua, can you? Teal, though, well there’s a lot, but not much that has to do with the actual colors, but I digress…

Yes, there are flowers of blue…

And pots of a teal hue…

Neighborhood Colors

We often overlook the variety of colors found in our own neighborhoods. Maybe because we are used to seeing the same thing every day, or we don’t notice the mundane. One of my birdhouses and a bird feeder are shades of aqua and teal.

I was surprised to find many of the buildings in the homes and gardens sport various hues of blue…

…including ours. There’s a hint of teal in the sky. Edited with Painnt App.

I must have been in a teal-and-tortoise mood when I ordered my new glasses last week.

    • Thanks, John, there had better be since its a color challenge today, LOL! Next to green blue is my second favorite color. So many shades, so little time, haha! It has been a few years since we visited the South Fork of the Tuolumne River. Right there in the Tuolumne Meadows campground.

  1. What great photos, Terri. Teal and aqua are a couple of my favorite colors (love your glasses!). And swimming with whale sharks! I would love that. What an experience. Thanks for all the beautiful flowers and a great reason to smile. ❤

    • Thank you, Graham! The swallows are slightly attracted to the birdhouse but won’t stay 😦 Can’t wait to get my glasses–just in time for summer if it ever gets here (cold here today, windchill in 30s). The whale sharks were really amazing–like I describe in the previous post–like giant cows grazing.

  2. Terri,
Great color choice! I have always painted the roof of our birdhouses light blue because I read somewhere that the color will attract bluebirds, and I love bluebirds. My contribution this week is the aqua-ness of San Diego Bay waters and sky. Have a great Mother’s Day! Joe.

    • Thanks, Joe, glad you like the color choices this week. What a great idea for bird house roofs! An amazing shot of SD bay–iconic. I miss the place but we hope to be down there in late June. I’ll be-bop over to your post in a bit!

    • thank you for sharing the image of the ducks. I can’t share it because it is in the iCloud. Is this image in your WordPress media file? If so, you can go into your media file and cut/paste the URL into my comments so everyone else can see it. Otherwise I have no way to share the image.

  4. Such beautiful colours, Terri. They remind me of home, given that we live by the sea.

Your new glasses have some fantastic colours, and your birdhouse is very art-deco. Is it very old?

I’ll be joining in with my Wordless Wednesday post this week.

    Have a great week.

  5. Sp many wonderful photos Terri. I was having a difficult time thinking of what I had and yesterday a fortuitous drive down the coast, the photos just appeared 🙂

  6. I had to laugh Terri, because I also looked at using some sort of rhyme at the start of writing my post for this week’s theme of teal! It was a real challenge for me to find teal but once I started I was OK and enjoyed putting my post together. You’ve done a great job of sharing teal in a variety of ways. Your new glasses look lovely and will right in! Have a great week 🙂

      • It’s cold here too, which is weird, but it’ll be 95 this weekend. Hard to get anything to keep flowering in this weird weather.
And no, I wouldn’t have wanted to fall in, either! 🤣
