Sunday Stills: Look! Up in the #Sky!

The theme for Sunday Stills photo challenge this week is “sky.” Three weeks ago, we shared our sunsets and sunrises. This week let’s look at the sky from other perspectives.

Over the last few weeks, I have been in the right place and time to capture decent images of the moon by day and by night. The daylight moon was taken in late spring and is featured for Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: Spring, hosted this week by Tina Schell.

This was the full moon on July 4th at the Sacramento Delta, framed by the tree. There was still some light in the sky at 8:30 pm, causing my camera to be a little touchy and not getting the clearest shot.

    Love this, especially since we will be in Big Sky, MT on Tuesday for a six day visit. Hopefully, Big Sky will live up to its name and I will have something to share. Love your moon pics. Joe

  41. We have noticed some spectacular moons here this summer. Maybe it is because we are making it a point to go outside in the evenings during Covid stay at home, but I have never noticed the moon as much as I have noticed it this summer. Perhaps less air pollution plays a factor as well, but we are certainly enjoying it.
