Raindrops sit delicately atop a spring rose bud

These are a Few of My Favorite Things

The WordPress weekly photo challenge asks us to…

…”celebrate the end of the year, by sharing the most meaningful (or favorite) photo you’ve taken in 2017.”

It has been a great year for photography buffs. I certainly was excited to get my first “real” camera, although I have great success with my mobile phone!

Today I am sharing your favorites and mine through the beloved song lyrics of “My Favorite Things” sung by my favorite singer, Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music. You might have to use your imagination for the exact image to match the sentence.

All of these images were shared in 2017 on my blog and received the most pages views and “likes.” I threw in some of my own favorites, too.

Please feel free to sing along!

Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings, these are a few of my favorite things.

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes, snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes, silver-white winters that melt into springs, these are a few of my favorite things.

and then I don’t feel so bad!”

    • Thanks so much, Hugh, (finally on my laptop to answer comments properly). We are enjoying sunny, warm San Diego a few more days before we fly to Hawaii! I hope you got some good support for the charity! Happy New Year to you and yours, Hugh!

  5. The Sound of Music is most certainly one of my favorite movies of all time and the imagery that you selected to illustrate your favorite things is magnificent. Your photography just keeps getting more awesome. My favorites among your favorites are the pictures of Yosemite and Lake Tahoe. Thank you for transporting me there. And ofcourse I love your pups and your hubby for taking such good care of you. Wishing you great things in 2018.

  6. I loved singing along with you Terri, such a great display of photos. I love the shot of the rose with the raindrops. It’s interesting to read you’ve started using a real camera as I’m in the same boat. I loved the shots I got with my iPhone and it’s portability but I am also enjoying the photos using my new camera. It’s still small enough to be able to carry easily!! Are you enjoying the results you’re getting? All the best for 2018 🎉

    • Thanks, Debbie! That rose photo was taken with my older Samsung Galaxy and I have a newer phone with a better camera! I love it for that one time shot or any others, for that matter, but my real camera is the heavy hitter especially for post editing, cropping, all that. Looking forward to a fantastic 2018!
