Fun with Photography
Taking a little drink of water…fall.

I thought I would have some fun with this challenge using a photo of myself appearing to drink up Yosemite Falls.

According to Erika for this week’s WordPress photo challenge, “Photography, and any visual art, is all about perspective. For this week’s challenge, make use of sizing, placement, and Scale in your photos. Have some fun with perspective and show just how big, or little, the world can seem.”

To give you more perspective as the challenge suggests, here is a photo of my hubby (in green bike helmet) about a mile from Yosemite Falls.

More scale and perspective fun as we took turns photographing each other appearing to hold Bridalveil falls in our hands.

As you can see, a slightly wrong perspective can change the tone of the photo to something comical. Hubby did not have enough towels to dry Yosemite Falls from his cap.

No matter your perspective or how grand the subject of the photo, we humans will always appear as tiny blips on the immense scale of nature. And once you are in tune with nature, your five senses will thank you for the gift!

  8. You two had so much fun – Yosemite is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. That famous Tunnel View took my breath away and it didn’t return for the whole time of our visit. But you got to taste the falls – I never did that!

  19. It’s s,o fun reading your stuff, Terri, since I know many of the areas. I love that particular walk, and we’ve taken it many times. We had a waterproofing job in nearby Oakhurst, and on our days off, we hiked the valley, the encircling cliffs, and Tuolomne meadow. And of course, the Sierra grove by the south entrance is always a must. 🙂

  20. Looks like you two had a great time. It’s been a while since I’ve been to Yosemite. Your photos want me to return soon. I just got me Lifetime Senior Citizens Pass to the National Parks in the mail. We live closest to The Pinnacles so are heading there in November.

    • It was so fun going in the spring, although it was Easter weekend and crowded on Saturday. Jealous you have a pass, I’ve still got a few years! And we’re practically neighbors (we’re in Sacramento ). Never been to Pinnacles, but my daughter recently visited, who lives in the south bay area. My next wish is to visit Yosemite in the fall.
