Got time for a game? Our leisure time should include games! Have you ever played Boggle? It is a fast-paced word game where players pick out words working against the clock. When my daughters were much younger and my mom was still able to travel, we would gather around the dining table and play several rounds of Boggle. Such a fun game, no wonder I like words!
“Games” is the theme for Hughes Weekly Photo Challenge. Because of Boggle’s requirement for using an hourglass to keep time for each round, I couldn’t resist adding this to the Weekly photo challenge: Time
Can you find some words in this photo? There are quite a few! The letters must touch each other going in any direction and cannot repeat. Share your answers in the comments!
Now…go play some games!

Great challenge. I found one but I won’t tell because it would be a spoiler alert. I love Boggle!

Hi,
I only saw “lie”. How embarrassing! What a fun post. Playing Boggle with each other.

That’s funny, Janice, because lie is right next to plain and Spain. 🙂 I may have to do this again soon !

Never heard of this game before, Terri, so thanks for introducing it to me. I found a few words, the longest being Nails. I’m not very good at word games, preferring instead to solve puzzles. We should all play games more often as they certainly help everyone relax and have fun.
Thanks for participating in this week’s challenge set by Ronovan.
Have a great weekend.

Thanks, Hugh, it is fun! Good catch on finding nails. Otter was a good one, too, in case you missed it 🙂

I missed it, although I have just seen ‘Slap’. This game is very addictive. I’m going to have to buy it. 😀

Yay! Yesterday, I showed my daughters the post and true to form, they immediately found words. Warmed my heart!

I never played this before, but if the letters can adjoin horizontally, vertically and diagonally to zig-zag, then I found … to, in, an, cot, rest, ale, nib, yelp, tesla, and plain.
My game of choice is usually backgammon. I even made a travel board by laminating a printout of a board and using buttons for game pieces… nice and light in the purse or suitecase! 🙂

Good job on the words, Terry, there is also otter, Spain, slap and a few more 🙂 Your backgammon games sounds great for travel!

I LOVE that noisy little game! I haven’t played it in years. I should pick it up for my daughter and I to play. Granted, my motive is two-fold, she needs practice in reading and this is a way to get her to recognize words without being “educational” and two it would be great quality time for us. Thanks for the post and the memories. A few words I found: bots, laps, sap, set, lie, cots, slap, nap

That’s our favorite family game, even when we visit our eldest daughter the Boggle comes out at least one of the evenings we’re there.

Never played Boggle. We’re more of a Scrabble family. I couldn’t find many words in the picture though, certainly nothing that hasn’t been mentioned. So maybe stick to Scrabble? 🙂

I always enjoy your posts Terri. I’ve been giving games to the grandchildren for Christmas and their birthdays – old fashioned games such as dominoes and snakes and ladders. They go camping so they can take them away with them. Thanks for sharing at #overthemoon and have a great week!

Thanks Sue! Plain old games are more than fun when camping!
