Photo Challenge: Reflections of a Summer Day

Reflections of a Summer Day at the Sacramento State Aquatics Center

Reflections of a Summer Day at the Sacramento State Aquatics Center

As I sit here enjoying the fall colors that finally made it to Sacramento, I am now reflecting on the summer….but only because I am combining two photo challenges for today’s blog post.

I live close to the Sacramento State Aquatic Center and am delighted to go there often, whether I am stand-up paddling, visiting on a long bike ride, or enjoying a field trip with my university students. Nothing says summer more than the reflections of kayaks and sailboats ready for some water time.

This photo is being submitted for Julia’s My Red Page, Camera Lucida: Reflections.

AND for Jennifer Nichole Wells’ One Word Photo Challenge: summer

Join either or both of these photo challenges any time!

  2. What a gorgeous photo! I love Sacramento after visiting many years ago. How blessed you are to live near such a wonderful place as the aquatic center.

    • Thank you, Cathy, Sacramento is really a lovely place. I am a transplant from my home town, San Diego, and many ask me why I moved from there. Close to the mountains and the seasons 🙂

  3. Very nice! Yes, you are right! We were thinking alike on this one. I guess we were reflecting on summer 🙂
Funny how we both added the pop of red!

  5. I love the contrast of the bright red kayaks against the dark water. Also love how the water is so calm it reflects the sky. I could get used to paddling there!
