If we were having coffee today, I would sit, heave a big sigh and tell you why my week felt slow and weird. How would you like your coffee today? I’m going for the iced mocha again since it is still hot and getting hotter!
I think part of the slowness was that I spent two crazy weeks preparing for two big events. The week prior to Memorial Day weekend was spent getting everything ready for my daughter’s college graduation party afterward. I shared this post “The Phoenix Shall fly.”
The second week was spent preparing worship songs and power point slides for my church’s ladies retreat. The retreat, held in Lake Tahoe, was wonderful and filled my soul…and was emotionally draining. And yes, I drank a lot of coffee!
If we were having coffee I would tell you that the summer heat is here and is slowing me down. Monday’s temperature is predicted to hit 101 degrees (38 celsius). This heat will not help the severe drought we are having in California and we are experiencing all time water level lows in lakes and reservoirs. The nearby Sierra Nevadas are getting some thunderstorm activity, which may sound nice in theory, but the new underbrush growth will be fire fodder later this summer. To help with my part in water conservation efforts, I posted this last week “15 Water Safety Tips We can All Use.”
If we were having coffee, I would tell you with excitement that I started my link-up blog party The Leisure Link. My post “How to Promote Your Blog Using Link-ups” will take you to the link up page where you can add the link to your favorite post related to all things leisure and recreation.
Now that it is June, I am preparing for the university classes I will be teaching this Fall. I will be excited to teach again after having to take the Spring semester off.
I am also linking this post to Part Time Monster’s Weekend Coffee Share. Join anytime!
How was your week? I would love to hear about it! And don’t forget to link your post to The Leisure Link!
Oh, the heat seriously slows me down. I’m in Texas but originally from the East Coast and I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it! So hoping y’all get some good rain out there soon! Thank you for linking up at the #HomeMattersParty with us! Hope to see you again this coming week for another coffee share!

You’re a busy lady! And you get all perfectly done! Congrats on new features on your blog. Will check them out. I haven’t been blogging since last Thursday and just started to catch up again.
I wish I had been as productive as you are.. Life got in the way though!
Cheers!

My husband may start to get annoyed with me, especially if I blog at the delta (which I try not to do). I’m really only blogging 4-5 a week, and half are photos. Glad that life got in the way and you are off having some great down (or up) time 🙂

Oops. That wouldn’t be good. Blogging photos takes less time if we use stock images. I blog more photos as well.
It wasn’t, unfortunately, leisure which kept me away from blogging, but all is sorted out by now.

Yes, you have been busy but it sounds like it is a good busy! We’re having very high heat here, not as high as in California but still high for our area for this time of year (Portland, Oregon). Today we were above 90. I don’t even want to know how high. It’s after 11 pm right now and it is still 80 degrees outside and hotter inside (no AC).

Oh, Portland! I lived there for two years as a child. 90 is HOT there! I have cousins there and we visit at least once a year! Hope you can find way to get cooled off!!
