Eigen-WHAT??
According to Jennifer Nichole Wells’ One Word Photo Challenge, this is Eigengrau (gray):
Many often equate the California coast with endless sunshine and eternal blue skies. Morning coastal fog, or marine layer, hangs around all spring and summer, but begins to burn off by late morning. In this photo, the sunbursts filter through the gray fog creating magical beams of promising light.

How would you interpret eigengrau? Thank you for stopping by!

I wasn’t sure what eigengrau was but your photo captured it perfectly! I like how the light is streaming through….

I really like this interpretation. The fog, the silhouette, the rays of light, It all makes such a gorgeous image. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, Jennifer, it took me a while to figure it out. There weren’t too many examples yet. It was taken about 4 years ago while we were travelling from San Diego back to NorCal. And thanks for hosting the challenges; I am looking forward to the weather challenges coming up 🙂
