One Word Photo Challenge: Eigengrau

According to Jennifer Nichole Wells’ One Word Photo Challenge, this is Eigengrau (gray):

Many often equate the California coast with endless sunshine and eternal blue skies. Morning coastal fog, or marine layer, hangs around all spring and summer, but begins to burn off by late morning. In this photo, the sunbursts filter through the gray fog creating magical beams of promising light.

How would you interpret eigengrau? Thank you for stopping by!

    1. Thank you, Jennifer, it took me a while to figure it out. There weren’t too many examples yet. It was taken about 4 years ago while we were travelling from San Diego back to NorCal. And thanks for hosting the challenges; I am looking forward to the weather challenges coming up 🙂
