There is a serene quality about an empty dock that is so inviting on a warm September afternoon. Normally, this dock is full of visitors preparing to stand-up paddle, kayak, hydro-bike, or sail. Earlier, there were hundreds of college and high school students rowing and practicing their canoeing for competition. A rare moment indeed to see this dock empty.
This is submitted for the weekly photo challenge Express Yourself.
Sacramento State University hosts the world-renown Aquatics Center dock at Lake Natoma below Folsom Lake. Here, you can express yourself with a new leisure pastime by renting all sorts of equipment or by learning a new water sport. There is nothing like a peaceful stand-up paddle session on a September Saturday morning.
Venture forth and express yourself with a fun leisure activity.

I want to step in one of those boats and drift out onto that brilliant blue!

They are a lot of fun!

Of course, I’d have to step “into” the boat before I stepped in it! (Oops.)

Teeny bit of editing to enhance the colors.

Still, it is beautiful! You are lucky to live close to that beautiful lake.

Thank you! I am very lucky. Funny that we drive one hour south every weekend in the summer to windsurf. Too bad there is no wind on the lake close to home!

That would be awesome to be so close to windsurf! I imagine you are very good at windsurfing! Sounds like fun!

Dawn. The dock. Yoga mat (for actual yoga and meditation). Thermos of coffee.
