As the sun set on the Sacramento River Delta, we held a memorial service in honor of a fellow windsurfer who passed away after a long illness.
We laid our windsurf sails down in salute along the levy where we launch as a testament to his life.
A windsurfer contemplates the moment.

Very solemn and serene moment, indeed. Thank you for sharing this…

Beautiful. Such a sad thing, but a beautiful tribute.

I like how you captured the sun ray burst, exploding into the water, and even reflecting on the sail in the foreground.

Thank you, Doug 🙂 Sun ray burst courtesy of picmonkey editing!

I guess I’ll have to give PicMonkey a try – sounds like it would be good learning it. Also I haven’t quite got into the Weekly Photo Challenge yet this year, but I need to do that too.

It’s pretty easy, Doug, you would like it. If you can download and share music on your blog with spotify, picmonkey, by comparison, is a walk in the park (pun intended)

The sails make the photo much more memorable than “just” a sunset.

Thank you. I took that photo two summers ago and it worked so well for this photo challenge.

Terri nice to meet you. End of the day such a satisfying feeling. I miss my days sailing on the Bay 🙂

Ah, a fellow windsurfer! I’m afraid of the bay but I know plenty of women who sail there. I stick with Sherman Island and La Ventana 🙂
