Photo 101 Rehab #2: Rainy River View

Waterfall Feather River

Waterfall Feather River

Since we are getting major precipitation here in Northern California, I was hoping to capture a picture depicting rain, without actually getting soaked. I want to share this photo I took in 2010.

A friend lives in the mountains in Quincy, California. This was an October day and it was raining off and on as we took a hike in the woods near her home. I captured this on my old digital Canon camera and have been complimented on its composition. It turned out to be a stunning shot. I did no other editing other than to paste my signature using picmonkey.

  1. Lovely photo: the yellow leaves and waterfall are gorgeous together! On another note, I was interested to hear how you added your signature. I haven’t done that yet and wondered how people achieved it.

  2. Nice photo. Looks like a great place for a hike. I liked how you captured the water flowing over the rock and the turbulence. Also the rocks have very clear definition, and of course the yellow leaves offer good color.
